"Counterfeit Currency"

Paul uses the nation of Israel as an example to those of us today who would understand the plan of God for the salvation of mankind. They indeed have zeal, but not of God! They are truly religious, yet it is but vanity! They are evidently devout, yet wrong and condemned!! Letter-perfect in keeping the law, yet fatally flawed in seeking and doing the will of God! He says, in Romans 9:31-33 that Israel tried to “do it their way.” This was their great mistake, and is today the great mistake of many others. Romans 3:9b-12 shows us that “all are included in unrighteousness that they may ultimately be included in righteousness, as in Romans 11:32-33! And in Ephesians 4:4-7 we see that there is only one way!!! See also Acts 4:8-12 and John 10:7-9.

Ah, some would say, but we have believed and an appeal is made to John 3:16. But let us hear the whole mind of God upon the matter, as recorded in James 2:17-20. And in John 14:6, “No man cometh to the Father but by me.” Some might say, “But why do we have to make such an issue of it?” Someone once asked Jonathan Edwards why he spoke so much of hell; and his reply was, “I fear more people are going there.” Please see Hebrews 10:31; II Corinthians 5:14 and 5:10-11a.

Once, in illustrating this I printed up some money and asked the congregation who would be willing to exchange the money in their possession for the money I had made. I didn’t get any takers, because all knew that it was not acceptable currency that they could use in today’s market, at the bank, the stores or anywhere else. God’s currency for redemption is the blood of Jesus Christ, and there is no other!!!

Every man, woman, boy and girl is lost!!! And they can only be saved one way!!! Are you going to spend your life winning the lost to the only One who can save them, or go through the rest of your life making excuses for them, hoping that they will “somehow” buy their way in by using counterfeit currency?!?

I am saved because one day it was revealed to me that I was lost. I put my trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, and I continue yet today a living testimony to the saving grace and mercy of Almighty God!

If you are saved today, it is because you too were one day confronted with your lost condition and presented with the only possible solution to your dilemma. Can you believe that it is any different for any other human being under Heaven today?!?

There is still but one way!!!

Do you believe it?!?

Then proclaim it!!!
